Lindheimer's Muhley
Muhlenbergia lindheimeri

A great clump grass to use instead of Pampas grass. It is much more graceful and less aggressive but has somewhat of the same type of appearance. It is a native of the Hill Country. In the fall the seed spikes tower several feet above the clump of grass. It is graceful in the breeze. Give this plant 3 or 4 feet to reach its maximum size. Try a few grasses to add interest and texture to your landscape.
