Basswood or Linden Tree

Tiliaceae Tilia caroliniana

The basswood is a little known tree that grows in many parts of Texas including the Hill Country.

It if often found in the canyons with year-round streams or creeks.  It can reach a height of 75 feet.  It has few problems and would be a nice addition to the landscape.  It has small white flowers that give off a nice smell.
